Notre Dame is committed to building partnerships with universities and organizations in sub-Saharan Africa through our presence in Nairobi, enabling the University to contribute to and benefit from the region’s advancements in technology, environmental conservation, and social enterprise. The Holy Cross Congregation, whose regional headquarters are in Kampala, Uganda, has been a cornerstone of the University’s efforts, providing support and partnership in initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa.
As we continue to develop our presence in Nairobi, Notre Dame is dedicated to empowering students and faculty to engage with some of the most pressing global issues.
Pamoja ND Initiative
The Pamoja (Swahili word for together) Initiative is a cross-disciplinary space for Notre Dame to deepen its engagement with the African continent through collaborative research, teaching, innovation, and policy outreach.
